The Reactor Wants YOU!

With our transition to Joomla, the Reactor can now become more of a user oriented site. Joomla makes it very simple for anyone to submit content, so you don't need to be a programmer to do this. Regular users can become contributors with permission from moderators or the administrator and submit content to the site. You can submit news, cheats, reviews, new gallery images, the list could go on. These are the basic requirements if you want to become a contributor for a particular area:

Reviewer - While any registered can write a user review for the RPGs we have featured on the site, we have a dire need for people to become our official editors. Editors will represent the Reactor's opinion on a game, so you must be passionate about RPGs, possess decent writing skills, be able to follow our reviewing guidelines, and willing to learn how to use the Content Management System. While you won't need an English degree to become an editor, you will have to submit a sample of your work for us to look over. We want to maintain a certain level of professionalism, so having an opinion is no longer enough, you're going to need above average writing skills to boot.

Cheat Section Manager - If you've got a knack for finding the latest cheats and file editors for games, we need your help. You will need to learn how to use the CMS, but it involves very little technical know-how. If you can submit cheats on a regular basis, this is the job for you. Besides submitting new cheats and hints, you will also be in charge of reviewing and approving submissions by regular member.

Content Manager - We need somebody who can find us news on the gaming scene. Anyone who has the time to search for gaming news is wanted! We currently only need someone who can find news (release dates, delays, etc) for PC, PS2, GC, and XBOX. You will be able to submit news as long as you have Internet access. You don't have to do all things at once, you can just submit some news daily or you can manage the release dates page. News managers must post news at least once every two days. Keep in mind that you will need to know where to find gaming news, other gaming sites should be good enough, but make sure you paraphrase whatever you find! This position also involves using the CMS, so you must have a willingness to learn it.

Release Date Manager - Currently, we only have one person maintaining the release date section and for the most part it's very difficult to keep it up to date. If you've got the latest news on when games will be released, this position is for you. With the new CMS, it's a matter of typing in a few numbers and letters to update the section.

Graphics/Or Suggestion - Anyone who likes to create graphics or just plain creative is needed. As for the 'suggestion' part, you can give me a Staff Position you want to fill that's not listed here.

These are strictly volunteer positions, but credit is given where it's due and it's a great place to demonstrate your writing or creative skills. Knowledge about HTML not needed, but a plus if you do. We're using Joomla to make updating simpler and more accessible to staff members; it's much easier to use than our previous system, so if you can fill out a form, you're pretty much qualified!
