Hosting Application

Thanks to our recent move to a premium host, we now have a hefty monthly bandwidth allotment and a decent amount of disk space, which makes it possible for us to host sites. Now not every site can be hosted; your content must be distinguishable from all of the rest. When the Reactor was still at its infancy, it was located primarily on a free public server, namely Tripod. Of course as the site grew larger, Tripod could no longer accommodate our needs so the search for a new home was underway. I know how hard it is for small time sites to expand with such limitations, so I feel obliged to help out others who are in need of a decent host. 

If you wish to be hosted, please email Toma (mmxii@comcast.net) your site's URL and what makes it so special. So if you're one of those people who produce wonderful RPG Maker RPGs, but can't supply your fans because of bandwidth limitations, this could be your opportunity to move to a better place. There is no specific criteria for sites who want to be hosted, it can be about one game or an anime, as long as it is creative and shows promise. 

Once you are accepted, I will create a folder for you to put your files in, so your new URL would be http://www.rreactor.com/yoursite. Subdomains are no longer available for free because they have been filled up; if you really must have one, please notify me and we can work it out. I will also try to help you with anything you need: design, forum section, webstats, graphics, etc.

What you get:

MySQL database
/folder URL
CGI, PHP, PERL are supported
FrontPage compatible

Here are the basic ground rules:

1.) You must have our hyperlink visible on every page. This can be substituted for the mini-banner. 

2.) The site you submit must be up and running; I will not host "Coming Attractions".

3.) Please limit the offensive material; do not dedicate a page on pornographic images or illegal activity. 

4.) Do not abuse bandwidth and disk space. If you host a file that is larger than 20MB and is downloaded at least 500 times, you will be dropped. If you upload large files for the sole intent of simply storing them on the server, you will be dropped.

5.) Stay active! If your site has not progressed in six months, you will be at risk of being dropped. If it cannot be helped, please contact me and we will work something out.

6.) Lastly, DO NOT waste my time. If you send in an application and make me set up your account and all of a sudden want to back out, I will have no choice but to blacklist you. Please notify me if you have no intention of sticking with the difficulties of moving to a new host that way I won't have to go out of my way for a lost cause.
