1. Fayt from Star Ocean 3; I think around level 252 with a maxed out Levantine and boosted Side Kick.
2. Toss up between Elwen and Lenneth from Radiata Stories; both around level 70-ish.
3. Richard from Suikoden V; not the best against magic, but can't be beat with regular weapons (which, the majority of the game's enemies use).

There's probably a Gameshark code for it. I know I changed Cloud into Sephiroth in the PC version of 7. Some people even said they played as Zack.

Graphics acceleration, so the summons and character models looked great (the backgrounds looked like doo-doo though).

I think I've seen screenshots of the PC version. And yeah...the backgrounds did look that way.

I never got Sephiroth through Game Shark, but I was able to revive Aeris.

I'm playing through the original right now,
it's soo much better that I'm old enough to understand the story, I love this game even more.

I always thought the storyline was a bit incoherent to tell you the truth. I haven't played it in five years, but even back then I thought the translation was a bit iffy. Luckily, some of the "hidden" side quests really helped bring it together, I would have been a little lost otherwise.

I think my strongest playable character is Freya in Final Fantasy IX, I'm not sure what level I got her up to, as that was back in 2000. Pretty much all the characters in Chrono Trigger are level 99 on my original file.
