Im trying to get into university (again) and i was gonna send this in as a supplementry form.

To Whom It May Concern:

Throughout my career in academic studies, I have seen both success and failure. As a teenager, I started as a wide eyed enthusiastic student who felt they could accomplish anything. As you can see, in both my first and second years at Pope John Paul CSS I have achieved a high average in my studies in arts, sciences and humanities. Also in both my grade nine and ten years, I had taken additional credit courses in Japanese, achieving my OAC credit after only one year of studying without prior knowledge of the language.

Unfortunately, in my grade eleven year, there was a family breakdown. Everywhere I looked it seemed like there was no peace, it had become my priority to keep my family from breaking down. I began to work more to earn money for the family at the sacrifice of my studies but to no avail, the tension in my home increased. This was further stressed when I was forced to move to Stouffville in my late grade eleven year. Being the seventeen year old I was at the time, I decided to stay at my high school despite the distance.

As I entered grade twelve, I became a blank outer shell of my former self, my enthusiasm had disappeared and I was constantly tired. No matter what I did, I felt that it was not good enough, which caused me to stop before I ever finished anything. My studies did not seem important, not compared to the hellish world I was in at home. I felt lost. I never had before.

2005 arrived, and this would change my academic life forever. I worked full time and decided to take a breather from the school life. I slowly regained my lust for life and I had achieved a goal as well: become a teacher. Not for the money, not for anything that has to do with power, but because during my dark periods, the last people I turned to were my teachers. I felt that I wanted to give back by being there for the future students.

I had applied to volunteer at a school, Marshall McLuhan CSS, and I had earned experience and friends along the way, further kindling my journey to become a teacher. After the school year had ended, I started my own business. Although working two jobs amounted to well over 60 hours a week, I added Nightsymphony Photography to my list of endeavors.

As my company began to take flight I realized I had to put it on hiatus, I felt the undying need to go back to school. University would be the only answer to my quest to become a teacher. I am currently enrolled in an online course to upgrade my grade twelve ENG 4U mark. I feel that more than ever I am ready to enter and achieve a successful career at your school. I hope that you would take the preceding into consideration as your school reviews my applications.

Sincerely,

Wow, I never knew that your life has gotten so rocky.

I think you've written a good piece there, and hopefully you'll get in. Good luck. :)

Looks good to me; not too dramatic and not too pushy.
