Well I ended up seeing it with some friends today. I'm honestly not really sure what to say about it considering I've never seen the original to make a comparison. It was gory, it was disturbing, but where was the story? All I got out of it was: survive the mutants.

I mean sure there was a back story, but you're not really thinking about that through most of the movie. It's hard to feel bad for them with how violent they are.

Also, one of the mutants (Pluto I believe...) looked like Sloth from the Goonies in this version. It might be a while before I can watch that movie again and not think twice when he says "I love you too Chunk." :(

Well, that's just me. ^_^

I don't think I'll every watch that movie. With what you said to me on Friday...I don't think I want to watch it.

I've seen the clips from the commercials and I couldn't help but think about Fallout and its post-nuclear mutant population. :D

I actually didn't know it was a remake; I thought that was just a 2005 thing.

I actually didn't know it was a remake; I thought that was just a 2005 thing. I didn't know that either, but appearently it was a remake of a low budget horror movie from the seventies, although it doesn't follow it that much (from what I've heard).

Welcome to every horror movie made in the past ten years. This is the reason why I don't watch them, they never have a story, and it's just the same senseless killing in every movie.

Yeah...same reason that I don't usually watch them. Before that...I was a kid and they scared me.

Not completely true... but I know what you're saying.

Yeah, I tend to stay away from them for the same reason. Just seems like the central question they're asking is "how can we sicken the audience some more?"
