Seriously I was excited about seeing this movie, but now that I heard it was going to be in a first person perspective, I don't think I'll see it. It just seems a little stupid to have it in first person.

I thought it was kinda cool for them to try something that radical, but I'd have to see the movie to know if it was a good choice or not. It's pretty hard to make Doom into a movie, so they're either really clever or they plumb ran out of ideas.

I'm guessing ran out of ideas, because I don't think for one moment that a first person perspective is going to be good at all. If people wanted to see a movie, they'd want to see one where they can see the person who's playing the roll of the character not for the whole movie seeing what that person sees. I feel like the only person who wouldn't like this movie!!!

There are quite a few people who don't have high hopes and probably won't care for the movie.

Now that I saw a preview for the movie I think it doesn't look as bad as I thought. I might actually go see it, but still...I hate the concept of a first person perspective movie.

I think the fact that the only "high profile" actor they've got is The Rock might turn off casual movie-goers.

True, but I think all of his other movies were good and a lot of Doom fans will see this movie for sure, so there will still be a bunch of people that will go and see this movie. I'm not one of those people who have even been into Doom at all. In fact I've never played one of the games.

There is only a 4-min scene in which it is first person. The rest is regulay 3rd person generic stuff.
But, you should have seen how all the people at Quake-con were cheering when they watched it ;)

Go and tell us if it's any good. I'd never go and see it until it's out on DVD, but I want to know anyway.

Ha I didn't know they still enforced the age limits and you wonder why teenagers love the Internet.

That's right...so you can download movies, not many download actual movies, but some would like to, but can't (dial up users...aka me)

It is a serious pain in the ass, but it's really all I can get right now. I'm poor :( .
