How many of you can say that you actually like/liked school? Well I can't and I think it should be more fun. I'm actually posting this topic from school right now (I have some free time).

What do you think should be changed about school?

I didn't like high school one bit. Elementary and middle weren't too bad, but HS was just a huge waste of time. They should cut down on the years required to pass, like maybe down to 2 or 3 years. They also need to give the students more choices when it comes to classes because I got the distinct impression that I was being brought up to be one of the countless drones out there.

I agree, HS is a big waste of time. And Crave, Kangaroos? That's one of the wierdest things you're said, besides when you asked me to look at the chick's breasts in the picture to see if you drew them right. Seriously, if you do that to almost any guy the way you said it to me, they'll laugh too.

HS seriously needs to let us set a bunch of stuff on fire for no apparent reason...I still can't get off of that kangaroos comment.

Probably the reason why most kids hate school. I mean there are people that love it, but if their friends weren't in it then it'd be a different story.

Well the there are about million things I dislike about school (I'll spare you from mentioning all of them) but if there is one thing that stands out above the rest... it's that my school makes you think you can take courses it actually has never offered (and probably never will). Each year they send home a large booklet filled with courses that you can select to to put on your schedule. I selected 10 but the following week I got a phone call from my school counslor informing that out of the ten classes, only three were being offered. I aked why the others weren't available she told me that they were no longer being offered or they couldn't find a teacher for them. And for the record the three courses that were available are required by state...

That sucks big time, but it's all they ever say these days. I usually get, "that class is full" or "you don't live in this school district". I think prison had better classes than our HS did.

Tell me about it. If you want to take anything outside the required courses, you're probably out of luck. Just this year they eliminated two of the language choices (German and Sign Language) but are repeatingly using the phrase "we are raising the bar". What kind of bar thay're supposably rasing I don't have a clue. Just last week our brand new superintendent was fired for some sort of discrimination issues that they won't release...
Although I like to think I have it bad, I know there are other districts that have it much worse. They actually bring city kids to my subburban school for "better" education and safety. Trouble is it makes an already overcrowed school even worse.

You have it worse than me. Even though we did cut a lot of classes and even worse, they reconstructed everything on the school property outside of the school besides for one of the parking lots. It was so damn unneeded. They tore up the football field when it was in good shape! Sometimes I think the school is run by a little kid.
