Has there ever been a cd, movie, or something else that's really dissapointed you, because it wasn't good enough? It's really happened to everyone in a time in their life.

I thought the Boogiepop Phantom Original Soundtrack sucked. I probably shouldn't be complaining too much since both of them came free with the Ultra Box Set, but neither of them had the opening or ending theme which were easily the most compelling tracks in the entire series.
I understand that neither song was specifically made for the series, but I still think they could have managed to convince the artists to get them in there. There are some good tunes in the CDs (mainly Pone and the BP version of Wagner's Meistersinger), but if they weren't free I probably wouldn't take them.

My disappointment would have to be the new Jimmy Eat World cd. They're a great band, but this cd just sucked. There were a few good tracks, but the majority is just too soft for me to listen to. I really liked Just Tonight, Pain, and Nothingwrong. Those were the best tracks from the cd and if you've played THUG 2 you might recall hearing pain on the game.

Tekken the movie was dissapointing. That's the only thing that comes to mind.

Yea I saw that movie on Showtime when we were still paying for it; really sucked. It was actually a whole lot like the other fighting-game-turned-movie deals, where they just trot out every possible character so the fans are happy. Considering it was animated, they could have done a lot more.

Renting a movie (DVD) only to have it be able to finish considering the back is all scratched up.

Yea, if you rent almost any movie here you'll get a scratched up copy of it unless you're the first person to rent the movie.

I hate when that happens. Sometimes it can't be helped 'though. From what I understand, licensing a series is quite expensive, I mean just the animation. Getting permission from the record company to use the music for the opening and closing themes is another expense, even if it's part of the show. Sometimes, companies can't even get the right to the songs. This happened to Funimation whith the shojo anime "Kodancha", they didn't have the rights to use the theme song from season one, so the English version only has the music from the second season. That's kinda a rare case, though. More often, the distibuters can use those songs in the show, but not on the domestic soundtrack cd. Which is funny, because the cd is nearly identical to the original Japanese version otherwise. The US version of the soundtrack "Hellsing: Raid" contains two less tracks than the Japanes cd of the same name.
Errr... anyway. Dissapointments... I'm usually disapointed when one of my favorite books is adapted into a movie. Usually it just ends up being an over-the-top film without ever really capturing the essence of what made the original so enjoyable. Of course this isn't always the case but it's happened so many times it's unbelievable.

V for Vendetta was a case such as being over the top without capturing the book. It was a good movie, but I liked the book to a much greater extent.

I suppose that's what they get for borrowing songs from established artists instead of having lesser known artists make a completely original work (even if it's a little on the 'meh' side). The opening and ending songs are amazing, but exactly how do they relate to the series? Not very much at all, but makes for a real freaky experience.
