Soul Farming: Boletarian Palace (1-3)
This is an excellent place to farm for lower level characters. Travel to the Tower Knight Archstone, and turn around so that you are facing the tower. Remember those two blue-eyed knights you fought at the end of 1-2? Now you can sneak up on them! By killing the two blue-eyed knights and the three archers, you gain 932 souls. This is also a good way to pick up a large amount of healing items.
Soul Farming: Boletarian Palace (1-4)
Travel backwards from the Penetrator Archstone. Here you will find the 3 red-eyed knights you encountered at the end of 1-3. While approaching all three of them at once is unadvised, you can however coax them to fight you one by one! simply equip any bow at the stair level before the corpse (keep in mind you are traveling backwards) and shoot one of them, in any order, in the back. This will coax them to fight you one by one, and around the levels of 30-60, you should be able to take them out with no problem, netting you 2000 souls per red eyed knight. Equip the Ring of Avarice for a boosted soul count. When done, simply travel back to the Penetrator archstone, Warp to the nexus, and warp back! This is also a good spot to farm Full Moon Grass and New Moon Grass healing items.
Soul Farming: Shrine of Storms (4-3)
You can either warp to the Old Hero Archstone or the Storm King Archstone if you've already defeated the boss. Equip the Stormruler sword and proceed to kill all of the Stingray/Storm Beasts for an easy 25K+ souls per run. Be sure to hide in the destroyed cottage near the archstone to protect yourself from the Storm Beasts' attacks. Equip the Ring of Avarice for increased souls and repeat the process as much as you want. This is also a good way to farm shards and occasionally chunks of Cloudstone.
Easy way to defeat the Penetrator boss (Boletarian Palace 1-3 boss)
If you simply cannot beat the Penetrator boss and don't want to summon Blue Phantoms to help, there's an easier way to achieve victory. The Fat Ministers throughout the level (there are two) will drop keys once you kill them, so be sure to pick them up. After getting the keys, return to the Tower Knight Archstone and work your way back to where the blue eyed knights are standing guard. There is a locked door on the right that can now be opened with the keys you picked up earlier; here you will find a Fat Minister keeping the NPC Biorr imprisoned. Kill the Fat Minister and open the door to Biorr's cell and talk to him. He will help you in the battle against the Penetrator and will also help you in 1-4 against the blue dragon. Biorr can take a good amount of damage and will draw all of the Penetrator's attacks, so just whack away at the boss until he falls.
Easy way to defeat False King Allant
While in Soul Form, equip the Thief's Ring and memorize the spell Poison Cloud. When you enter the Fog, immediately move to the left side and hide behind the wall at the bottom of the stairs. Old King Allant will move towards you, then stop and expose his back. Now, quietly walk (don't run or you will get killed) to the top of the stairs, lock-on and cast Poison Cloud on him. The spell will continue to do chipping damage on him, but it does wear off so be prepared to recast the spell a few times.
How to roll faster
To roll faster, keep your equip weight at 50% of your max or lower. The Ring of Great Strength under the Blue Dragon in the Dragon's Roost in 1-1 boosts equipment weight by 50% when equipped. This is handy for the Knights, who wear heavier armor.
Ring of Herculean Strength
The Ring of Herculean Strength lets you hold 50% more weight in your inventory, which is handy when you try to pick up an item that is too heavy for you. Your character will auto-drop it and then it will disappear forever when you leave the area. The ring will let you pick that item up then you can head back to the Nexus to drop off your loot. To get it: when heading toward that Cling Ring, step out onto the balcony halfway down the stairs and cut the chains on either side. Get the Jade Hair Ornament from the bodies that drop and go visit Stockpile Thomas. If you keep using the Talk command until you exhaust all the conversations then leave and come back he'll ask for the Jade Hair Ornament and give you the ring in exchange.
Cancel fall recovery delay
By pressing circle to roll or jump backwards the instant you hit ground after falling you will prevent the fall from stunning you. However, you will still take fall damage, sometimes at the end of the roll. Be careful when doing this, if you roll onto another fall, both falls are added when the game considers whether or not the fall was lethal. It is possible to die from a lethal fall by roll canceling of multiple small steps.
